Hope looks for what is to come. What are you hoping for this year? Some may be hoping for sunny weather or a quiet evening at home. Others may be hoping for relief from chronic pain or a return to “normal” pre-COVID19 life. Hope can be placed in a weather forecast, hard work, the next medical treatment, a vacation, or a new year. Where we put our hope often reveals what is in our hearts. Hope that endures and never disappoints can only be found in our God and the sure promise of salvation won by Jesus’ death and resurrection. “My Hope Is Built,” our school theme, is based on Romans 15:13. “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” This verse reminds us the highest purpose of education at Our Redeemer is training our children to put their hope in God’s promises. Scripture provides lasting confidence that stays with us our whole life and gives joy and peace during dark days. The more we learn of God’s love, the more the Holy Spirit fills us with joy and peace. Our hope then overflows into the lives of those around us. As we place our trust and hope in God, we know that all things work for our eternal good. With this perspective, we shine like beacons of hope in a world that is tossed about by fear, uncertainty, and despair. My hope is built on nothing less Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness; I dare to make no other claim But wholly lean on Jesus’ name. On Christ, the solid rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand. –Christian Worship 382 May God bless your summer vacation and fill you with hope as you place your trust in Him. -Principal Peck
